James Joseph Dresnok (Joe Dresnok) was one of 4 american soldiers that defected to the North Kora during war there. If you are interested in this kind of stories this piece of documentary below is going to fulfill your needs.
Joe Dresnok (born 1941) lives in North Korea to this day. I belive there is another documentary about his story called "Crossing the line".

I remember hearing a little bit about this guy about a year ago. It really sucks when your life is so bad that running across a minefield into North Korea is your best option.
