Hey
Summer is comming so maybe some of will spend their holidays in Dubai. Don't hesitate to rent a car there. While browsing internet as usually I came across receipt containing gasoline price from gas station in there:
As you can see 27l (like 7,3 gallons) of gasoline costed 50AED which is around 13,5USD. From what I did read it happens that it still isn't cheapest gasoline price in the neibourhood as Dubai doesn't have its own oil reserves. To give you wieder point of view the same amount of gasoline in the states would cost you around 26,3USD.
When looking at prices like these I regret living in middle Europe where for 27l of fuel I would have to pay equivalent of 55USD; in my country where currencys purchase power is way lower.
You think you have it bad in the States, you should see the prices here in Ireland
ReplyDeleteor belgium -_-
ReplyDeleteHehe, yeah, people in states are lucky bastards compared to us in Europe. But you two I belive have Euro as currency, so you are not that much screwed if I count it right.
ReplyDeleteFor example in mine country 1l of gasoline cost 1/200 of minimal wage.
Belgium is pretty fucking expensive indeed. Yesterday that guy from Total said that 'he wouldn't be surprised if the fuel prizes would become as high as €2/litre in the next few months. I raged hard.
ReplyDeletegoing to be $5 a gallon in the states before too long.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Danny, I live in England and the prices in the UK are outrageous. Total joke!!!! Good post mate, enjoyed it! (Still p*ssed with the high prices though!)
ReplyDeleteMaybe the rising prices will bring about alternative fuel quicker, hopefully for cheaper too. heh
ReplyDeleteWow its been costing close to $30 USD to fill my mustang (12 gallon tank)
ReplyDeleteI hate the cost of fuel in England. I only passed my test this month and insurance and fuel are at all time highs. Something has to happen soon. alternative fuel?
ReplyDelete@ Wink: Heard the same thing at the radio from guys from Shell in Germany.
ReplyDeleteIt sucks that the US has oil and prices are still high.
ReplyDeleteFuel costs are definitely going to be a little volatile this year due to the crisis in Libya. Hopefully things will get better over time!
ReplyDeleteGreat post by the way, keep 'em coming :)
Damnit, I had just gotten in to the mindset to ignore things oil-related and NOW LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE GONE AND POSTED.
ReplyDeleteIs it because even though they have oil wells there, they don't have refineries?
ReplyDeleteWell, gas is high in Belgium because they don't want people driving cars. They'd rather that they bike and use public transport and not have to deal with gas at all. In any case, $1.80 per gallon of gas isn't bad. Last time I saw prices like that in the states were in SC around 2008
ReplyDeletegas isn't cheap where i'm from, but i ain't complaining compared to y'all
ReplyDeleteDamn that's cheap, It's over £1 a litre in England right now and it costs me about £70 to fill up my merc everytime :s
ReplyDeleteFollowing :)
Skeng's making light of it! We've been told £1.50 a LITRE (roughly $8 a gallon) will be a good deal in a few months. Damn country.
ReplyDeleteMan, I either eat, Or my car eats.
ReplyDeleteYes, living the in the U.K currently. The prices are stupid. I'm hoping to move to a bigger city where the public transport actually works, as much as i hate it :P
ReplyDeleteit costs me 80€ to fill up my tank..
ReplyDeleteFuel sure is getting more expensive. I wouldn't have any problems with those prices though. :p
ReplyDeleteFeels nice that I ride a bicycle everywhere sometimes.
ReplyDeleteIt costs me quite a bit to fill my tiny car ;[
ReplyDeletepeople say it's going to get up to $6 after this next summer.
